Office of Institutional Diversity Donates Socks in Honor of Older Americans Month

The Office of Institutional Diversity and it’s co-sponsors, the Panhellenic Council and the National Pan-Hellenic Council, recently donated and delivered a total of 461 socks in honor of Older Americans Month (May) to four nursing homes in Carrollton, including Carrollton Manor, Carrollton Nursing and Rehabilitation, The Oaks of Carrollton and Pine Knoll Nursing and Rehabilitation. The Office of Institutional Diversity delivered 115 socks to each location. The socks will be used for a variety of purposes: birthday gifts, bingo prizes, etc. The socks ranged from white athletic to multi-colored, to trouser socks, to diabetic socks, to footies. The Office of Institutional Diversity is thankful to the UWG Community and its enthusiasm and contributions to the community service project; they are looking forward to implementing the same project May 2012.
