National Honor Society Launches Summer Success S2 Challenge

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars Summer Success S2 Challenge is a 12-week program that will launch June 6 and continue until August 2011.

University of West Georgia NSCS members are invited to join the NSCS members across the country and more than 700 members who have already signed up to take this three month challenge and win a chance to become a scholarship recipient.

Each week of the program will feature a different challenge on the NSCS Facebook page as well as in the weekly newsletter for members to complete to earn points. For every “challenge” members complete, they will be awarded a certain number of points.

“This is the first time we’ve done something like this on such a huge scale using the national Facebook page so we’re all very excited about the outcome,” said Leah Schklar, Coordinator, Member Services and Interaction, who manages the society’s Facebook page. “We love the idea of engaging and helping members grow throughout the summer, but we’re most excited about awarding a $1,000 scholarship at the end of it!”

Each week members will have the chance to win a prize. At the end of the summer the top three S2 challengers with the most points will be awarded scholarships. The society will award a $1,000 scholarship to the top challenger and two $500 scholarships to the runners-up.

To register, NSCS members must visit the NSCS Facebook page and view the note about registering here or visit the NSCS S2 Challenge site to read more about the challenge.

NSCS is a part of the Association of College Honor Societies. First-and second-year college students are invited to join the society based upon GPA and class standing. The society offers its members different opportunities including scholarships, career resources, and leadership and networking opportunities.
