The University of West Georgia has been approved to offer an online Bachelor of Science degree in criminology.
The Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia and The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools recently approved the program. All of the program requirements are the same as for the B.S. in Criminology offered on the UWG campus.
Students enrolling in distance learning courses must first be admitted through the admissions office. Prospective students have until June 1 to apply for admission to the university, said David Jenks, the interim chairman of the Criminology Department
The criminology program joins a host of others now offered online by UWG. These include eCore, core curriculum courses in English, mathematics, science, history, and the social sciences.
Also available online is a Ph.D. in school improvement, a master of arts in Secondary Mathematics and Science Education, and a post master’s certificate in Nursing Education.
Additionally, UWG’s Richards College of Business is a member of The Georgia WebMBA program.
Students registering for distance classes should do so during early registration whenever possible.
