New Districts in Georgia.... Make Your Voice Count

Every 10 years a census is conducted and the results let us know roughly how many people live in the US and where they are located. When the numbers change dramatically, states have to redistrict. This procedure ensures that everyone has equal representation; equal districts mean equal votes.

For the next two months The Georgia Redistricting Alliance and Common Cause will be holding Public Hearings at various locations to gain feedback from citizens. The General Assembly encourages people to come out and speak their mind, especially if there are specific or unique circumstances and situations that should be noted. All comments and suggestions will be taken into consideration when they begin to draft the lines and will be greatly appreciated.

Official districts will not be out until 2012. If you are interested in attending a public hearing the following are optional dates and locations.
