Beginning next semester and continuing through the fall of 2012, remedial learning support courses at the University of West Georgia and many other colleges in the University System of Georgia will gradually disappear.

Learning support courses, which are generally taken by non-traditional students at the university, have previously been required when students fail to achieve a passing score on any of the three subjects of the COMPASS placement exam.
