Compleat Female Stage Beauty coming to Townsend


The University Of West Georgia Theatre Co. presents Compleat Female Stage Beauty by Jeffrey Hatcher, Nov. 9 - 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Nov. 12 and 13 at 2:30 p.m. in the Townsend Center for the Performing Arts Main Stage Theatre. Directed by Amy Cuomo with set design by Brad Darvas, the play tells the story of Edward Kynaston, who gained fame as a male actor of female roles during the 17th century. The production chronicles his struggle with the transition from being a “female stage beauty” to becoming a male actor.

Tickets for the performances are $10, seniors are $7, and students get in free with UWG ID.

There will also be a Community Preview Nov. 8 at 7:30 p.m. with tickets at a low price of $3 per person.
