Tom Moat, chairman of Newnan Hospital Inc., recently delivered a $1 million check to the University of West Georgia School of Nursing at Newnan. Moat presented the check to Julie Williard, (left) assistant professor of nursing, and Cathy Wright, Newnan Center director, as students practiced skills in Newnan's nursing lab.
The donation, to be used for development of additional faculty, was announced last year as part of a $2 million gift from Newnan Hospital to the School of Nursing. The second $1 million gift will be put toward expansion of facilities in Newnan, and will be delivered when those plans are confirmed.
