Matthew O’Brien, a UWG alumnus and author, is returning to Georgia as part of next month’s Decatur Book Festival. He will be discussing his latest book, My Week at the Blue Angel, a creative non-fiction collection set in off-the-beaten-path Las Vegas. He will also be promoting Shine A Light, a community project that provides housing, drug counseling and other services to the people living in the storm drains of Las Vegas.
The Decatur Book Festival takes place over Labor Day weekend, Sept. 2-4, on and around Decatur Square. O’Brien is scheduled to speak on Saturday, Sept. 3, from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in the auditorium of Decatur High School. A book signing will be held immediately afterward.
