The University of West Georgia will hold its spring commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 7 at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the coliseum on the Carrollton campus.
The morning ceremony will feature a commencement address by Georgia Speaker of the House David Ralston. The attorney from Blue Ridge has served in the House of Representatives since 2002 and was elected speaker on Jan. 11, 2010.
The afternoon ceremony will feature a commencement address by Sen. Johnny Isakson (R-Ga.). The Marietta businessman began serving in the U.S. Senate in 2004. Prior to that, he served 17 years in the Georgia legislature and three terms in the U.S. House of Representatives.
UWG’s 9 a.m. ceremony will include graduates from the College of Arts and Humanities, the College of Science and Mathematics, the College of Social Sciences and the Richards College of Business.
The 2 p.m. ceremony will consist of graduates from the College of Education, the School of Nursing and the Graduate School.
