Cultural Celebration at UWG




The Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures will celebrate Luso-Hispanic Day on Wednesday, Oct. 19 in the Campus Center. Everyone is encouraged to attend these events:

9 a.m. HBO documentary: The Fence. This is a short documentary on the controversy surrounding the construction of the fence along the Mexico-U.S. border. Campus Center (108.1)

10 a.m. John Jaramillo: Flamenco Dance of Spain. Jaramillo is a nationally recognized performer who specializes in flamenco and Aztec dance. Campus Center (108.2)

11 a.m. Carol Subiño: Afro-Son Fusion in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico. Subiño is a member of the Anthropology Department at UWG. Campus Center (108.1)

12 p.m. Jerry González, presentation on Georgia’s recent immigration law. González is president of the Georgia Association of Latino Elected Officials. (Campus Center 108.2)
