Jared LeClaire, theatre major at the UWG, took home an award during the Southeastern Theatre Conference in Chattanooga recently. His design for the UWG Theatre production of “Life is a Dream: 10 Minute Plays” was juried by renowned designers Tony Walton and Richard Pilbrow. He won second place in the undergraduate student design competition for his scenic and media design.
The two legends have designed a host of original Broadway productions. Walton designed scenery for “Chicago.” They worked together on “Fiddler on the Roof” and  “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” with Walton doing the lighting and Pilbrow the scenery.
