Archaeology Lab open house

The Department of Anthropology is hosting an open house of the university's Antonio J. Waring, Jr. Archaeological Laboratory. The open house will be Saturday, April 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The lab is located on Plant. Op. Drive, down the street from the Z-6 cafeteria. 

The event is free and open to the public. Those who attend the open house can get their hands dirty by participating in the archaeological dig at the on-site mock excavation pit. Learn to make stone tools with flint knapping demonstrations by Mr. James Spake. Artifact identification will be done by Dr. Thomas Foster. There will also be games and activities, an Atl-Atl throwing demonstration and guided tours of the lab.
