The Office of Institutional Diversity of the University of West Georgia will observe its second annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration on Tuesday, Jan. 11 at 7:00 p.m. in the Campus Center Ballroom. The speaker is Isaac Newton Farris Jr. The theme for the occasion is “What Are you Doing For Others.” Farris is senior vice president of the Martin Luther King Center for Non Violent Social Change and has served as president and CEO of the center. He is the nephew of King. Farris has contributed to numerous civil rights forums and mediums supporting “The Dream.” The event is open to the public.
