Please join the Office of Institutional Diversity in celebrating Older Americans Month by participating in a “Sock Drive”. Older Americans Month’s (celebrated in May since 1963). The 2010 theme is “Age Strong, Live Long.” Did you know that one in every eight or 12.8% of the population is an Older American (65+)? or that 471,000 grandparents, aged 65 or older, had the primary responsibility for their grandchildren who live with them? Our office will be collecting NEW socks April 12th- April 28th. Please help us reach our goal of 500 NEW pairs of socks! Bring all socks to Room 217 (Row Hall, East Wing) or place them in campus mail. All socks will be donated to local nursing homes in Carroll County during the month of May.
